Helping Sacramento’s Homeless Community and Asking Nothing Back: Mercy Pedalers
Winston Churchill once said, “We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give.” We have found that giving is the key to success, fulfillment, prosperity, and a life of prosperity. The world needs more people who go into the world and give their all to aid in the betterment of society.
The ministry Mercy Pedalers are those people! Mercy Pedalers believe that by welcoming and reaching out to men and women experiencing homelessness on the streets with a sense of dignity, respect, and love God’s mercy will be present. The philosophy of “Welcoming the Stranger” is one of the Corporal Works of Mercy that has evolved over thousands of years. By “Welcoming the Stranger” they create openness to be and grow in relationship with the other. They approach someone’s space, or allow someone to enter their space, in a non-judgmental, warm, and hospitable manner!
But what is it that the Mercy Pedalers do?
Mercy Pedalers are a group of bicyclists (bikes and trikes) whose main goal is to reach out to men and women experiencing homelessness on the streets. Whether through giving a warm pair of clothes, being someone to listen to, or just praying for the individual in need, Mercy Pedalers loves the Sacramento Homeless community unconditionally! They recently partnered together with the Wellspring Women’s Center who on average are meeting with 32+ people each morning just to care and love on them.
We here at Armstrong Plumbing have a large heart for this incredible ministry! We have seen what they are doing in our community and would love for you to join us in supporting them!
